Testing for the Diagnosis of Coeliac Disease
Currently our testing profile has consisted of IgG gliadin antibodies, IgA gliadin antibodies and a single tissue transglutaminase IgA antbody test. These two IgG and IgA gliadin tests have now been replaced by a single IgA test using a new deaminated gliadin.

Estimation of glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) will be included on reports where serum creatinine is requested on patients 18 years and over.

Laboratory Accreditation/Calcium/Chlamydia
The reaccreditation of our new pathology laboratory was undertaken recently by the National Association of Testing Authorities [NATA]. Launceston Pathology can now provide testing for ionised calcium (with ion-selective electrode). Testing for Chlamydia trachomatis DNA.
